Dean Mubaiwa

About me:
I’m Dean an enthusiastic for anything learning and discovery, especially in the physical and social sciences. I love helping students to unlock their potential by breaking down complex concepts/topics, showing how different fields of study connect.
Educational Background:
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (UCT). I attained 14 points in my Cambridge A Levels with scores of Mathematics (B), Physics (A) and Chemistry (A).
Professional Experience:
I’ve gained valuable teaching experience through volunteer work with the Students' Health and Welfare Centres Organisation (SHAWCO) at UCT, where I taught primary school students in underserved communities. I have also tutored a variety of subjects, including Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Economics, for both primary and high school students at Ordinary Level (IGCSE) and Advanced level (Cambridge).
Teaching Philosophy:
Inspired by Marie Curie's quote, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood," I believe every student can succeed with the right support and environment. My approach is to tailor lessons to individual needs, helping students grasp fundamental principles and understand how they shape our broader world. My goal is to ignite curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning in each student. This approach not only enriches individual lives but also helps build a society that confronts and solves issues collaboratively, rather than being divided by fear-driven thinking.

Why Choose Me:
With a solid STEM background, real-world engineering experience, and a passion for teaching, I provide a unique and engaging tutoring approach. I support students in primary and high school subjects, including Cambridge curriculum topics, aiming not just to pass exams but to make learning a rewarding experience to the individual.
