About me:
Hello! My name is Tshidi, and I am a dedicated science tutor passionate about making
Educational Background:
I obtained a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Human Anatomy & Physiology and
Biochemistry, from the University of Cape Town. I then earned a Bachelor of Medical
Science (Honours) in Neuroscience and Physiology. Most recently, I completed my MSc in
Clinical Science and Immunology. My academic background has equipped me with
extensive knowledge and tools, enabling me to tutor both high school and university
students effectively.
Professional Experience:
I have 8 years of experience tutoring Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to both university and
high school students. During this time, I have interacted with a diverse range of students and
tailored lessons to meet their individual needs. Additionally, I have volunteered as a mentor,
which has enhanced my ability to relate to students and understand how their academic
performance can impact their confidence. In my first sessions, I focus on getting to know the
student and understanding their preferred learning styles. This approach helps build their
confidence and foster a love for the subject.
Teaching Philosophy:
My aim is to make students love the subject, despite any difficulties they may encounter.
Especially with science, developing a passion for the subject can make it easier to grasp
scientific concepts, as they are integral to our everyday lives. My goal is to help students
reach their full potential by instilling a positive attitude and confidence when dealing with the
subject.
